2015 Tri-State Scholastic Winter Open — JAN 24, 2015 – The Results Are In.

The Delaware Youth Chess Organization held its second tournament January 24th, 2015. The impending storm gave way, and 70 students came from 16 teams across Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland to compete. Children from Kindergarten to 12th grade thought long and hard through 4 rounds while their parents waited nervously and lounged leisurely. Coaches and volunteers went over the students notated games and discussed strategies. Other volunteers sold water, snacks and lunch to the chess players and their families. Below is a picture of most of the participants. DYCO would like to say congratulations to all of the players for wonderful sportsmanship and thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to support our mission and these wonderful kids.
