Colette Trouve, the top-rated player in the tournament, won the inaugural 2005 City of Wilmington Chess Championship with a score of 3.5/4. Her only “blemish” was a quick draw in round 4 against Scott Laporte, who finished tied for second at 3/4. Not being from Wilmington, Colette was awarded the trophy for “Top non-Wilmington resident.” [...]
