OPEN SECTION: EF: $35 by 11/12, $45 at site (GM, IM free entry); $$: 60% of EF returned as prizes split as follows (portions of prize fund for section) $40%-25%-15%, Under 2000 10%, Under 1800 10%, Trophies: 1-3, X, A, B, Junior, Top out of State DCA Member, State Title plus Trophy to Delaware Men’s Champion and Delaware Women’s Champion (DE Residents) + free entry into next year’s championship.

AMATEUR SECTION (Under 1600): EF: $25 if received by 11/12, $35 at site; $$: 60% of EF returned as prizes split as follows: $40%-25%-15%, U1400 10%, U1200 10%, Trophies: 1-3, C, D, E, F, junior, Top out of State DCA Member;

RESERVE SECTION (Under 1000): EF: $15 if received by 11/12, $20 at site; $$: books and equipment, trophies to 1-3, junior, Top out of State DCA Member, others based on entries.

QUADS (Sunday, 11/21 only; EF $20, $$50 per quad, TC: G/60; REG 9:30-10:00, RDS 10:15, 12:30, 2:30. DCA ($10) required, OSA.

Upcoming world events

Susan Polgar (who recently visited the Delaware Bear Chess Club!) is playing Anatoly Karpov (the Russian legend) on Saturday and Sunday 9/18-9/19 in a 6 game showdown. Two of the games will be Fischer Random chess. You can watch the games on the various chess servers (Playchess, ICC, USChess)

On September 25th, Vladimir Kramnik and Peter Leko will start their World Championship match. This one is sure to be a major chess battle.

Congratulations to Milford Quad winners

Congrats. to Woody Schoffstall, and Charles Vaughn who shared first place in the top Quad. Congrats. to Philip Riccobono who won first place in the lower Quad.

From Newark, and Dover area take Rt.1, S at the Rt.1/ 113 split in Milford stay on Rt.1. T.R. on Rt.14 West 2nd rd. on the R. after the split. Go approx. 1.5 mi., and turn L. on Maple St. Go to the stop,and go straight across it is the 3rd building on the left after the Post Office.

From Salisbury take Rt. 13 N. to Harrington, DE. T.R. on Rt. 14 E. at the Rt. 14/ 113 intersection go straight across,and T.R on Maple St. it is the first Rd. after the crossing the intersection. Go to the stop, and go straight across. 3rd building on the left after the Post Office.

Note: Westside Restaurant is next door. ” Great Food ” for a reasonable price.

PS The building has air condition and is wheelchair accessible.
